Bradford Metropolitan area?

Key growth sectors are:

Service sector - call centres, print and packaging, multimedia, communications, hotel and leisure, cultural and finance and to a lesser extent, health, nursing, care, childcare, hairdressing and beauty, sales and education. The service sector accounts for around 70% of all employees, with 20% in wholesale and retail.

Manufacturing - despite a general national decline, this is still a key sector in the District, employing around 20% of all employees.

Nationally and internationally - there is a shift towards higher level, knowledge-based occupations.

Young people - are in a strong position when it comes to learning new skills, as long as they are willing to learn, have enthusiasm and determination. They must use the available college, training and school routes to their advantage.

Which skills are important?
