Bradford is England's 4th largest metropolitan area. It covers the city of
Bradford, Keighley, Ilkley, Shipley, Saltaire, Haworth, Bingley, Baildon and many other
villages.

The metropolitan area is bordered by North Yorkshire, Leeds,
Kirklees, Calderdale
and Lancashire. Its 2001 Census population is 467,665.

The population is growing steadily:
Bradford Council projects a 4% increase over the next 20 years.

Approximately
22% of the population are from ethnic minority
groups, this is set to grow to 35% over the next two decades.
